  • Thursday Morning
    • Darrell Merrell, Founder, Opening proceedings.
    • Chester Aaron, Guest of Honor, will give a talk covering his years of experience as a lover of, grower of, and writer of Garlic. He will give us his reasoning as to why "Garlic Is Life"!
    • Joachim Keller, Ph. D., Director of the Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Research, will discuss the importance of seed banks.
  • Thursday Afternoon
    • Gayle Volk, Ph. D. will discuss research done with Walter Lyons on the storage of garlic at 27 degrees F and report on her work in garlic DNA analysis.
    • Walter A. Lyons, Ph. D. will deliver a study co-authored with Gayle Volk entitled: "Results from the 2003 Specialty Crop Growers Project with Colorado State University: Some new insights into Garlic Horticulture."
  • Friday Morning
    • Growers Conference with Richard Smith leading a discussion of growing and marketing garlic.
  • Friday Afternoon
    • Growers Conference with Bob Anderson discussing how to identify garlic diseases and pests and how to deal with them organically.
    • Bryan Hostick, "Confessions of a Dirt Whisperer", will relate his experience as a commercial composter and brewing of compost tea.
  • Saturday
    •  9 AM - 4 PM The Garlic Is Life Festival
    • 11 AM - Cooking class with Lisa Becklund, founder and former Owner/Chef of the award winning La Medusa restaurant in Seattle, WA. Also a Garlic Tasting Event with Guest of Honor Chester Aaron
